Ravi Shekhar Tiwari

I research Neurosymbolic AI, which means building systems that learn like neural networks and reason like logic. I also engineer AI that ships, from edge devices to production pipelines.

Areas of work: neurosymbolic AI, LLM verification, formal methods with SMT solvers such as Z3, LLM inference on NVIDIA Triton, explainable AI, ontologies and knowledge graphs, edge AI systems, and poetry.

01 / About

A researcher who builds.

I am a PhD scholar in Computer Science at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, working on Neurosymbolic AI: combining the pattern-finding power of deep learning with the rigour of symbolic reasoning. My work covers formal methods (SMT solving with Z3 and model checking), ontologies and the verification of large language models, along with efficient LLM inference on NVIDIA Triton.

Before the PhD I spent several years building production AI. At Chadura Tech I built AI pipelines, chatbots and recommendation systems. At Tata Consultancy Services I worked on DevSecOps and intelligent automation. As a Junior Research Fellow at IIT Patna I built an AI proof of concept for a coal power plant, and at IIT Indore I developed acoustic early-warning models that run on edge devices. I hold an M.Tech in Data Science & AI from Mahindra University and a B.Tech in Information Technology from SRM University, where I graduated with First Class with Distinction.

Alongside research I edit books for CRC Press (Taylor & Francis) and IOP Publishing, and I review for Springer's Scientific Reports and Discover Artificial Intelligence. I also write technical courses and articles. Away from the keyboard, I write poetry and paint.

Life is like a roller coaster. Sometimes we rise, sometimes we fall, but we have to keep our momentum to reach what we want. Stay focused, and choose your goals.

02 / Research

Teaching machines to learn and reason.

My research sits where deep learning meets logic. I focus on AI that can explain itself and can be checked.

Neurosymbolic AI

Hybrid systems that pair neural perception with symbolic knowledge and logic, so that AI is both capable and interpretable. This is the core of my PhD at IIIT-Delhi.

A car is useless without a good engine, and I would have been nowhere without the right guidance and motivation. As my guru, she lit the best path for me and stood by me through every failure and roadblock. Whatever I become, the credit will always be hers: my idol, and an elder sister to me.

Technology is just a tool. When it comes to getting students to work together and keeping them motivated, the teacher matters most. It's the teacher who makes the difference, not the classroom. Education is the key to success, and teachers leave a lasting mark on their students' lives.
